Start with your career profile, not a job title search. Then set your location and workplace preferences, run Find jobs for me, and wait for the email. When the board is ready, read the unblurred cards, open the original posting, or use Generate CV on a strong match. That is the practical answer to how to use job radar without wasting time on roles that do not fit.

## What Job Radar searches

[Job Radar](https://yourunique.cv/job-radar) matches your career profile against live public postings on company career pages and ATS platforms. The profile is the same one used by the resume agent. The system filters the available corpus, ranks a shortlist, and scores each match in the same general way it scores a tailored CV against a job description.

It does not search every job site. It does not ingest LinkedIn, Indeed, Naukri, or Workday. Its public ATS sources include Greenhouse, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Ashby, Lever, Breezy, Teamtailor, Recruitee, Rippling, Pinpoint, Personio, BambooHR, Join, and similar career pages.

The corpus snapshot on September 15, 2026 had 579,828 active public ATS postings. Across the full corpus, the workplace mix was 65% onsite, 17% hybrid, and 18% remote. Your results will depend on your profile, city, preferences, and the live postings available when the search runs.

The score is a matching aid. It is not a Workday or Greenhouse number. No public score can prove what an employer's private screening process will do.

## Step 1: Finish your career profile

Your profile controls the quality of the search. Treat it as the source file for every later action.

Add the work history, skills, job direction, location, and workplace details that you want the system to use. Keep facts accurate. Do not add a tool, qualification, responsibility, or level you cannot support.

Check these items before searching:

1. Your recent roles are represented clearly.
2. Your main skills and work areas are stated in terms you can defend.
3. Your preferred job direction is specific enough to separate real fits from broad noise.
4. Your city and country are correct.
5. Your remote and office preferences reflect what you will actually accept.

If your profile is incomplete, a good posting may look weak because the system cannot match facts that are missing. If the profile is too broad, the board may contain roles that sound interesting but are not practical applications.

You can start or update your account at [YourUnique.cv](https://yourunique.cv), then return to the Job Radar page.

## Step 2: Set location and workplace preferences

Location rules affect what stays on the board. Job Radar prefers your candidate city. A remote posting stays eligible only when it appears hireable in your country. That prevents a remote label from being treated as permission to apply anywhere.

Use the preferences as operating rules, not as vague wishes.

| Preference | What to set | What to check before applying |
|---|---|---|
| City | Your actual target city | Whether the role is based there or accepts applicants there |
| Remote | On, off, or your preferred level | Country eligibility and any stated location restriction |
| Hybrid | Whether you can attend the required office days | Office location, travel time, and attendance terms |
| Onsite | Whether you will work from the listed office | Commute, relocation needs, and start expectations |
| Avoid rules | Locations, workplace types, or role patterns you will not accept | Whether a result breaks a rule despite a good score |

Do not turn on every workplace type to increase volume if you already know you will reject two of them. A smaller board with usable roles is easier to review.

The full corpus contains more onsite and hybrid postings than remote ones. If you choose remote only, expect a narrower set. That is a preference result, not a search failure.

## Step 3: Run Find jobs for me

Open [Job Radar](https://yourunique.cv/job-radar) and select Find jobs for me. The service runs the search from your career profile and preferences. You do not need to build a separate keyword query for every title.

The system filters the available public ATS postings, ranks the shortlist, and prepares the board. Wait for the email that says the board is ready. Do not treat the loading period as a signal that no jobs exist.

Your access depends on the plan:

| Access | What you receive |
|---|---|
| Free | One promotional search, 10 cards, 5 readable cards, with the remaining cards locked |
| Pro | The first run, daily new unique jobs, up to 50 readable cards, and Generate CV on a match |

A card count is not an application target. Read the cards you can access and decide which ones deserve a real review.

## Step 4: Read the unblurred cards first

Start with readable cards. Review the job title, location, workplace type, posting source, and match details. Then compare the role with your own constraints.

Use this order:

1. Reject a location or workplace mismatch.
2. Check whether the role is in your target direction.
3. Read the match score as evidence of profile-to-posting overlap, not as an employer decision.
4. Inspect gaps. A gap can mean the posting asks for something absent from your profile. It can also mean your profile does not state an experience you do have.
5. Open the original posting when the role survives those checks.

A high score does not remove the need to read the posting. A lower score does not automatically make a role impossible. First decide whether the gap is a true requirement, a preference, or missing wording about experience you can prove.

For a deeper explanation of reading a match result, see [Job Scanner: How to Test, Read the Score, and Fix What Matters](https://yourunique.cv/articles/job-scanner). For one posting you already found, the [ATS resume checker](https://yourunique.cv/free-tools/ats-resume-checker) can compare a resume PDF with the job description and report a match score, missing keywords, and gaps. Its number is a scan result, not the employer's ATS score.

## Step 5: Open the posting or generate a CV

Use the original posting as the final source of truth. Confirm the closing date, location, workplace terms, eligibility, and application instructions. Job Radar helps you find and rank public postings. It does not replace the employer's application form.

If you have Pro and the match is readable, select Generate CV when the role fits. This starts the CV flow from the match. You can keep your uploaded layout or choose a built-in template, then export a PDF after the CV is checked against that job.

The CV is written from your profile facts only. Do not use the workflow to claim a missing skill or invent experience. If a posting asks for something you have not done, leave it out or decide that the role is not a fit.

For a targeted single-posting review, the [job description keyword extractor](https://yourunique.cv/free-tools/job-description-keyword-extractor) lists must-haves, tools, and nice-to-haves. It can mark which keywords already appear in your resume PDF. It does not rewrite the CV, and it is not a reason to add skills you do not have.

## Step 6: Dismiss misses and improve the next run

Dismiss cards that fail a real constraint. Use a short reason in your own notes, such as location, workplace type, seniority, job direction, or unsupported requirement. This keeps your review consistent.

Do not dismiss a role only because one phrase is unfamiliar. Open the posting if the work, location, and requirements are otherwise credible. Also do not keep a role only because the score is high. A bad commute or an ineligible country still makes it a miss.

If many cards fail for the same reason, repair the profile or preferences before the next search. For example, correct the city rather than rejecting every result from the wrong city. If your profile omits a real responsibility, add that fact before judging future scores. Do not copy a posting's language into your profile unless it describes work you have actually done.

The related guide [Resume Search Keywords: How to Match the Job Without Stuffing](https://yourunique.cv/articles/resume-search-keywords) covers how to reflect real experience without repeating every phrase from a job description.

## Your first-week checklist

Use this sequence during your first week:

- [ ] Complete the career profile with accurate work history and skills.
- [ ] Confirm your target city and country.
- [ ] Choose remote, hybrid, and onsite preferences deliberately.
- [ ] Add avoid rules for constraints you will not negotiate.
- [ ] Run Find jobs for me.
- [ ] Wait for the board-ready email.
- [ ] Read the unblurred cards before opening every posting.
- [ ] Separate true gaps from facts missing in your profile.
- [ ] Dismiss clear misses instead of forcing them into your application list.
- [ ] Open the original posting for each serious match.
- [ ] Use Generate CV on a readable Pro match when the role fits.
- [ ] Record the application date and next action.

## Apply today checklist

Before you finish today, use this shorter checklist:

- [ ] Pick one readable match that fits your city or country rules.
- [ ] Confirm the workplace arrangement and application eligibility.
- [ ] Read the full public posting, not only the card.
- [ ] Check that your profile supports the claims your CV will make.
- [ ] Generate a CV if you have Pro and the match is worth pursuing.
- [ ] Export the PDF and check its contact details and formatting.
- [ ] Apply through the employer's stated process.
- [ ] Save the posting link and note the date.
- [ ] Return to [Job Radar](https://yourunique.cv/job-radar) for the next readable match.

That is the complete loop: profile, preferences, search, email, readable card, posting review, tailored application, and dismissal of poor fits. Repeat the loop as new unique jobs appear on Pro, or use the promotional search to test whether the workflow fits your search.

## Questions

### What is the first step in how to use Job Radar?

Complete your career profile first. Job Radar uses that same profile for its search, ranking, match score, and tailored CV workflow.

### Does Job Radar search LinkedIn or Indeed?

No. Job Radar searches live public career-page postings from sources such as Greenhouse, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Ashby, Lever, and similar ATS pages. It does not ingest LinkedIn, Indeed, Naukri, or Workday.

### What does the Job Radar score mean?

The score estimates how well your career profile matches a posting and is read in the same way as a tailored CV score. It is not the employer's Workday, Greenhouse, or other ATS score.

### Can I use Job Radar for remote roles?

Yes. Set your remote preference and country details accurately. Remote roles remain eligible only when the posting appears hireable in that country. The system also prefers your selected city.

### Can I generate a CV from a Job Radar match?

Pro users can use Generate CV on a readable match. It starts the paid CV flow from that job. The CV is written from profile facts only, then checked against the posting.
